i finished watching a lets play of this just a bit ago and cannot recommend it more! like, watching or playing it, i feel confident that the experience would be near equal with each other
like the least spoilery overhead of the plot is like: a point an click game it takes place in like the 1800s, you play a woman who is an academic, she excavates ancient burial grounds and identifies antiquities, she gets a letter from a man up north inviting her to study a local burial mound called hob's barrow, she goes because she is working on a book about barrows
if you prefer to go into something with like zero giveaway, thats that, ill put the rest under a spoiler thingy
okay this one is a major spoiler
its unfortunately a hefty 15 dollars, but if you dont pirate it its like one of the few games that costs 15 dollars that actually feel worth the price point, its like a 7 hour long game and every moment of it is just dense in game design, writing, visual and audio art.

omg so like the vibe of the thing is totally like wicker man meets silent hill, the puzzles which do have like that point and click inventory puzzle logic to them but they're like really smooth and forgiving and they did a lot of work for it to feel like natural enough within the story while still having it be like the point and click inventory puzzles people like Expected, its so perfectly balanced, a lot of the puzzles have a nod to like silent hill and wicker man even like it does wear its inspo on its sleeve but its a benefit to the story, the art is so far removed from the two of them that it doesnt feel like youre playing a fan game or a game adaption of either
the art itself is soooo nice, like it has that kind of stretched out person minimal pixel point and click style but everything has lovely details within the minimalism, each frame is like rich in stuff to look at and care has been taken to make sure everything is readable for what it is
every once in a while you get like a close up animated frame of something, the style is different then but its like not jarring like, if you've played faith its a bit like that when you get like a more detailed cut scene and the way they use these moments is like Show Stopping every time
i dont remember the ost being memorable which is like better than being annoying, it does have these really cool moments like fiddle playing which blasted me each time and like a song that was like a This Is The Wicker Man kind of singing
i think my only criticism is that the final bit before the final act is a bit rushed and the logic behind some of the things is a little shakey Just in this part (but also it lacks body diversity, but it has a wide range of like uk dialects so thats cool-oh! yeah its also fully voice acted and its a really solid job the whole game)

like right before she goes to hob's barrow its like the priest and the xenophobic old man is right, which suuuuck? and also you know a whole bunch of info from the drunk cheater guy with mommy issues that should change how you feel about the dig, while there's only one ending, i think the story should branch here, like a story path a/path b but it still gets you to the same outcome, like i think they should have gone ape like if you go with the drunk guy, you have time to see the priest crazy killed and the old man with his tongue out and then you get tossed into the barrow with no way out but if you dont go with the drunk guy you have no reason to see these guys as like right, but also framing theyre right a little differently like having the drunk guy be the only one in the inn's bar area left as you leave like lass a word and have him like soften a bit and then maybe earlier in the game maybe have the priest be less like Catholic like hey why is the priest also pagan or something so there's a little like less of catholics were right this was evil and more of a red herring like oh the priest has an eViL pAgAn cUlt only for him to be like killed? or trying to ward the barrow with other gods, so thats my only criticism of it
