I'm weirdly hungry to go hunt down old flash games to play via like, the newgrounds player or whatever other player might work, does anyone have good recs for flash games that are scary, whether intentionally or just having an extremely eerie vibe? The ones I currently have planned might not be intentional horror but always felt deeply eerie to me. Those games are: - Looming: A very minimalistic exploration of the remains of a dead world found through... I think a portal of some kind? It's been so long since I played it but I can't be sure. It always left a very eerie, hollow, sad impression on me. I mostly want to revisit it because I feel like it left a deep mark on my tastes and Aesthetic Sense that I'm having trouble placing. Of all things Iron Lung reminded me of it even though Looming is a lot less despairing and frightening than that was.
- Fisher Diver: A game about deep sea harpoon fishing. Very few games have ever made me scared in the way this one did as a teen. Something about the minimalistic mess of lines and dots that represented the sea creatures always felt deeply eldritch and unnerving, along with the ever present threat of drowning.
Outside of recs we can of course discuss the fond memories of games made in this dead format here.

Oh Bright in the Screen looks really cool, I'm sure I'll really enjoy it once I get a handle on it due to being bad at games

omg good luck gfdgdf the newer versions are more like player friendly but the original is notoriously mean and its like intentionally hostile so expect to die a bunch, but its also a fairly simple game

omg these both sound very fun, once my computer has internet i have to play them.
i really enjoyed Ghostscape, getting to take photos of ghosts and ghostly objects has always been a thing i've enjoyed in Ghost Games.
exmortis is also such a classic, both of these are very much point-and-click escape the scary place games, but they left an Impression on me as a wee child
