i like to cleanse my brain a little before bed especially if i'd been reading/watching/playing something really scary/upsetting.
these are some of my favorite silly funny things i like to watch to reset the vibe:
Gayle (2012-2015) youtube series by chris fleming (any chris fleming video also works tbh)
Three Busy Debras (2020-2022) a tragically cancelled adult swim show.
The Gay and Wondrous Life Of Caleb Gallo (2016) a youtube miniseries by brian jordan alvarez
The Nanny (1993-1999) never fails to put me in a good cozy mood.
what do you guys watch? do you guys do brain cleansers too??

those are fun recs for unwinding!! i dont often need to unless it was like emotionally devastating or i have other stuff to do, then ill put on an asmr vid if it made me cry or was intense in that way, ill usually put on one with talking (i think asmrplanet's stuff is a lot of fun!) but i normally put on a sound bath or something ( this one is a collbo between two groups, one group does like reenactments of traditional medicine and massage and the other is a singing bowl guy) like that to like wash the palette

This is no lie or exaggeration, but I fall asleep every night watching Frasier. It is like comfort food for my brain. In my current rewatch I am up to the season 8 two-part opener, “And the Dish Ran Away With the Spoon”.

When I need a breather from horror and just something to put on in the background, my two go to pieces of comfort media are Mystery Science Theater 3000 and The F Plus. If you haven't heard of MST3K, it's basically a silly show with puppets that make jokes over B movies, I personally prefer to watch the Joel era (the Mike era has a lot more transphobic jokes that kinda sour the mood) and you can find most of those episodes posted on YouTube. The F Plus is far less well known, but it's definitely my favorite comedy podcast, it's basically just a bunch of friends coming together and doing dramatic readings of posts from around the internet, making a bunch of jokes along the way. They recently did an episode where they read a few of the worst rated creepypastas on Creepypasta.com, so I think some of y'all might get a kick out of that. Anyhow, I just think I like media where a bunch of friends make silly, dumb jokes together while appreciating otherwise disregarded bits of media and human culture.

i also like to watch asmr ! really anything simple and relaxing is nice for me. lately just for General Decompressing i've enjoyed watching hannah morris bouldering, her voice is very quiet and easy to listen and fall asleep to and i also just enjoy the ambient Climbing Noises.
